Answer: True! 1 in 3 women diagnosed with breast cancer are over 70. Yet women aged 71 and over are not routinely invited to breast screening. Women aged between 50 and 70 are routinely invited to a breast screening every 3 years. However, if you are over 71 you can re-enrol into the routine screening programme by contacting your local breast screening unit. Alongside screening, it’s important to check your breasts regularly and know what’s normal for you.
