volunteer opportunities

Volunteering is an incredibly rewarding and a great way for you to share your skills, gain experience and give back. Whether you are signing up on your own or with a group of friends or colleagues, thank you.  You will be helping to make a real and positive difference to the lives of those touched by breast cancer.  We could not do what we do without you. In addition, Future Dreams has a broad range of opportunities including:

  • VOLUNTEERING AT FUTURE DREAMS HOUSE and This could include assisting with general administration and reception or supporting our services for those touched by breast cancer including supporting in the Dream Kitchen, set up and break down for workshops and classes (eg Body Confidence).
  • SKILLS SHARING – sharing your skills and experience to further the charity’s work, reach and impact including helping with our fundraising research, planning and development, HR advice, communications/digital marketing, etc NB many of these volunteering tasks can be conducted remotely.
  • VOLUNTEERING AT EVENTS.  In 2024 we will host Fight Night V, a white collar boxing event (March) requiring 30+ volunteers, our Ladies Lunch in partnership with the Estee Lauder Companies (October) requiring 30+ volunteers and a corporate golf day (date tbc) requiring 20+ volunteers.  We also attend third party events in aid of Future Dreams – many of which need volunteer help.
  • VOLUNTEERING AT CHALLENGE ACTIVITIES. We are extremely fortunate to have many wonderful supports competing in challenges throughout the year. Every event needs volunteers to support our challenge eventers on the day including cheering competitors during the race and congratulating them at the finish line.

Volunteering

Hear from those who decided to volunteer with Future Dreams and the impact it can have not just on those touched by breast cancer, but also those who choose to gift their time.

"I have been volunteering at FD for nearly a year now. Volunteering at FD has given me the sense of community I was missing from my life especially since my BC diagnosis. Once you open those doors at FD it’s like you are in a massive hug, supported and protected by those around you who understand your feelings & fears. On my Volunteer days I always wake with a spring in my step eager to get to FD."

“I was diagnosed in August 2015 and after 2 surgeries which included 15 months of treatment and now I am on 10 years of medication, so that I can live well and beyond my diagnosis. I wish I had known that Future Dreams House existed then and all the wonderful, caring, workshops they offer to women like me. It was by chance that I came across FDH and now I volunteer to make a difference to others starting out on their journey and afterwards. I have made lifelong friends and I love FDH and all the staff”

"The best thing I have done for myself since being diagnosed with breast cancer. I had felt lost and alone the days l volunteer is my way of giving back saying thank you and helping others not feel alone.”

Donate to those touched by BREAST cancer

Sylvie and Danielle began Future Dreams with just £100 in 2008. They believed nobody should face breast cancer alone.  Their legacy lives on in Future Dreams House.  We couldn’t continue to fund support services for those touched by breast cancer, raise awareness of breast cancer and promote early diagnosis and advance research into secondary breast cancer without your help. Please consider partnering with us or making a donation.
