Mother and Daughter Host A Coffee Morning in Support of Future Dreams

Posted by Olivia Phillips on 23 October 2024

On Sunday 20th October, Leonie and her mother Mandy, hosted a fundraising coffee morning for 50 people in their home. They very kindly chose Future Dreams to be the recipients of the incredible £1250 raised. The room was decorated with pink balloons, our Future Dream leaflets on display and there was a raffle hosted where a hamper of goodies was up for grabs. Mandy welcomed the guests, then handed over to Leonie who spoke about the experience of her diagnosis and journey, and the role Future Dreams played in her recovery.

Mandy told us “I was a terrible shock when Leonie was diagnosed with breast cancer so young in her 20’s and it’s been heartbreaking to watch our daughter go through so much gruelling treatment.  Leonie has showed us all what a brave and courageous person she is, continuing to work as a primary school teacher throughout her treatment and continues daily to show immense strength and resilience.  Organisations like Future Dreams are the helping hand when you need to be with people after a diagnosis.

Donate to those touched by BREAST cancer

Sylvie and Danielle began Future Dreams with just £100 in 2008. They believed nobody should face breast cancer alone.  Their legacy lives on in Future Dreams House.  We couldn’t continue to fund support services for those touched by breast cancer, raise awareness of breast cancer and promote early diagnosis and advance research into secondary breast cancer without your help. Please consider partnering with us or making a donation.
