BYRON’S BRIGHTON MARATHON CHALLENGE FOR FUTURE DREAMS

Posted by Olivia Phillips on 06 March 2023

Byron will be running the Brighton Marathon and is raising money for Future Dreams, a charity of choice chosen by his good friend Nikki.

After fighting breast cancer back in 2019, Nikki then got diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in August 2021. Nikki and her family use the services of Future Dreams and the Future Dreams House has become her safe space over the past year. Byron is dedicating his sponsorship to Future Dreams, which is very close to Nikki’s heart.

Byron’s Brighton Marathon is set to be his 6th marathon challenge. He was signed up to run the Brighton Marathon last year but tore his calf in January whilst training so had to withdraw and save his place for this year. With just 4 weeks to go, he’s entering the final few weeks of training to get ready for April 2nd.

I couldn’t think of a better charity to try and help on behalf of my friend Nikki.

The training has been difficult and where his right calf has recovered from the tear last year, his left calf is now in terrible pain. “I think knowing this is for Nikki and having all my superb family there on the day, will help me get over that line.”

Byron would like to say a big thank you to all those who have supported his challenge so far. If you’d like to support Byron in any way, you can visit his fundraising page HERE.

Donate to those touched by BREAST cancer

Sylvie and Danielle began Future Dreams with just £100 in 2008. They believed nobody should face breast cancer alone.  Their legacy lives on in Future Dreams House.  We couldn’t continue to fund support services for those touched by breast cancer, raise awareness of breast cancer and promote early diagnosis and advance research into secondary breast cancer without your help.
