Virtual Installation Launches As Part Of The Makeathon

Posted by Olivia Phillips on 29 February 2024

Future Dreams and West Yorkshire spinners have been partnering since last October on the Makeathon campaign. The West Yorkshire Spinners created a beautiful Future Dreams yarn. For every ball of yarn purchased £1 is donated to Future Dreams to support those touched by breast cancer.

Individuals have been getting involved by creating a knitted rose and sending it to Future Dreams House to be part of our flower arch display, launching on Wednesday 20th March for the first day of Spring.

Others who wanted to be part of the Makeathon and share their knitted or crocheted roses have been submitting their pictures through the website to be upload to our virtual installation created by the wonderful Tech Team at Estée Lauder Companies.

We would like to give a big thank you to the Tech Team at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. UK&I for volunteering their time and expertise in developing the Makeathon virtual installation.

The installation features a collection of knitted and crocheted roses created by people across the UK with many dedicated to a loved one who has been impacted by breast cancer.

Donate to those touched by BREAST cancer

Sylvie and Danielle began Future Dreams with just £100 in 2008. They believed nobody should face breast cancer alone.  Their legacy lives on in Future Dreams House.  We couldn’t continue to fund support services for those touched by breast cancer, raise awareness of breast cancer and promote early diagnosis and advance research into secondary breast cancer without your help. Please consider partnering with us or making a donation.
