Future Dreams Thrilled With New Funding

National lottery announce funding

Future Dreams are so pleased and thrilled to have been awarded funding by the The National Lottery Community Fund.

The funding of 10K from the Community Fund will go towards funding our menopause support for those living with breast cancer.

Breast cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and ovarian suppression often cause women to enter menopause prematurely. The change in hormone levels and oestrogen depletion can trigger side effects commonly associated with menopause. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is not usually recommended for women with breast cancer and many experience a range of debilitating symptoms associated with menopause. These include symptoms such as hot flushes, anxiety, irritability, brain fog, and osteoporosis. It is therefore no surprise that one of the most requested forms of support requested is for advice on how to manage the menopause.

In March, Future Dreams launched ‘Menopause + Cancer’ – a series of monthly online and in-person workshops and aims to improve the lives of those touched by breast cancer and struggling with the debilitating symptoms of the menopause. This funding will enable us to provide more series of workshops to women experiencing menopause and the symptoms and provide support for those living with breast cancer.

We would like to thank those who have made this possible. It will make a real difference to those touched by breast cancer and the support we provide in helping make sure nobody feels they have to face breast cancer alone.

Donate to those touched by BREAST cancer

Sylvie and Danielle began Future Dreams with just £100 in 2008. They believed nobody should face breast cancer alone.  Their legacy lives on in Future Dreams House.  We couldn’t continue to fund support services for those touched by breast cancer, raise awareness of breast cancer and promote early diagnosis and advance research into secondary breast cancer without your help. Please consider partnering with us or making a donation.
