Breast Cancer and Making Sure You Are Heard – Episode 4

breast cancer and making sure you are heard

A breast cancer diagnosis can make you feel like you have no control. Every decision is in the hands of the experts who are now taking care of you. But there is a way when your voice can be heard- that you work with the professionals who will save your life and make sure your opinion is taken on board.

In this episode, Victoria talks about “advocacy” or to put it another way, standing up for yourself. That doesn’t mean being obstructive or challenging the doctors at every turn, it means simply making sure you have a say in your treatment and its aftermath.

Sylvie and Danielle began Future Dreams with just £100 in 2008. They believed nobody should face breast cancer alone.  Their legacy lives on in Future Dreams House.  We couldn’t continue to fund support services for those touched by breast cancer, raise awareness of breast cancer and promote early diagnosis and advance research into secondary breast cancer without your help.
